Dear Guardian/Parents,
Welcome to the 2018 soccer season! We are excited to participate in another successful year of Viking soccer. Our goal is to teach each player skills, teamwork, responsibility and good sportsmanship.
While we are not a co-ed league, both the boys’ and girls’ teams will need the following information:
Practice
We have high expectations for our players, and it is their responsibility to be at practice and with the correct gear. Practices for both teams will be held at Viking Middle School from 2:35 P.M. until between 4:15 and 4:30 P.M. on non-game days. If you must miss a practice for any reason please notify your coach as soon as possible. Parents, please be sure to pick up your child at the activity entrance no later than 4:30 P.M., or arrange for them to get a ride with a friend or walk.
Equipment:
All players must maintain a “C” average in order to participate in any sport at Viking Middle School. Players are responsible for checking with teachers on how they are doing. Grades are the MOST IMPORTANT priority.
Playing Time
We do our best to ensure that all team members get a chance to play throughout the season. However, as this is still a competitive team, in a competitive league, our goal is to put the best team we can on the field. This will mean players will not be guaranteed equal playing time.
Games
Players will take the bus from Viking Middle School to all away games. We will do our best to let players know approximately what time the bus will be arriving back at Viking. If you are planning to take your child directly home from an away game, please be sure to check out with the coaches. You (parent/guardian) must sign your child out with a coach. If you would like your child to ride home with someone other than yourself, please let us know. Please check out our 2017 schedule. We love to have, and strongly encourage, parents to attend any and every game they can. Come support our teams!
Thanks,
Kristina Padula (Girl's Coach)
Eric Sator (Boy's Coach)
